Well, it symbolizes a traditional Chinese philosophy that propounds how opposite elements are also interconnected to each other. We’re surrounded by various such elements. For instance, Shadow (dark) cannot exist without Light; Top cannot exist without there being a Bottom. To illustrate this idea lets Suppose there exists a race with only men or only women – the race would disappear in a single generation. That brings us to the rationale behind the existence of the human race. We have survived because of the inter-connection between the two opposites i.e. the MALE and the FEMALE.

Some chronic acne problems may be best consulted with the doctors and some acne problems ride down through generation i.e. are genetic in nature.

  • Alcohol and caffeine 
If you deal with acne, you better get observant about what you eat. All the food products mentioned above may be your heart’s cravings but when it comes to your skin, these are the bad guys. No one’s telling you to boycott anything altogether. Rather, limit your intake. Some other reasons for acne or pimples in general :- 
  • Clogged pores due to dead skin cells
  • Bacterial infection
  • Hormone imbalances for example during puberty or pregnancy 
  • Excessive Smoking 
  • If you are sleep deprived
  • High amounts of stress or depression

Believe it or not, Hydration is the panacea. If you find it hard to remind yourself of drinking water every now and then, here’s a smart trick. Try putting a wallpaper saying “STAY HYDRATED” on your mobile phones. It’ll prove a great reminder. 



It should be clear by now that treating acne may demand a lifestyle change and the best time to begin is NOW. Begin your day by feeling good about yourself. when you open your eyes, try to think positive. After waking up, make it a routine to meditate. Wrap an ice cube in a handkerchief or face towel and run it all over your face. It might look simple but it has surprisingly multiple benefits. It hydrates your face, on one side and cleans your face on the other side. It also opens up the pores in a way waking your skin up. Cleaning of the pores means there’s less oil, less dirt and less possibility of new pimples popping up on your face.  


Stop planning for a future laser treatment, thinking to save pennies for the cost is hefty. We drink Green Tea for good health. Well, there’s more to it. Soak a bag of green tea in a cup of warm water. When the tea is cooled down, wash your face using the green tea as a face wash. That’s one way to go overpowering on your acne. Green tea extracts all the excess oil from your face and cools down the inflammation on your skin. 



Exfoliate your skin at least twice a day. It isn’t time consuming as it may sound. Just put some drops of Rose water on a cotton ball. Gently wipe your face working your way in the direction of your facial hair. You need not rinse it. 


You just need to mix 1/2 cup of honey with 1 cup of plain oatmeal and leave it on for 30 minutes.  
If you are a fan of natural masks you can go for more active ingredients like  Mint and Aloevera. Mint can help reduce pore clogging by removing excess oil from the skin. What you have to do is, chop some fresh mint leaves and muddle it with the help of a muddler. You’ll be left with a syrupy kind of paste. Now add some pure aloevera gel – you can extract straight from the plant with the help of a spoon – to the paste. Apply it for about 15-20 minutes and wash it off.
 It can be applied daily before going to bed. 


Australian aborigines used TEA TREE OIL for all sorts of infections even on wounds. It is believed to be the most effective anti-biotic that is completely natural. You can use it independently or add it to any kind of mask.  


Lemon and orange have their own reputation when it comes to treating acne. Always look out for these fruits as the key ingredients whenever you buy a facewash. 


  • Urge to squeeze or pinch acne pimples as it’ll leave blemishes or spots on your face. It may even spread infection on your skin giving rise to more pimples
  • Over cleansing with harsh chemicals
  • Failing to stay properly hydrated
  • Smoking 
  • Being impatient about the results
